EuroVelo is a project of the European Cyclists' Federation, made up of 13 routes, totalling over 66,000 km, of which about 45,000 km are already in place.

The Baltic States cross three routes:

* No. 10 - the Baltic Sea Route ("Hansering"):
in Lithuania it is identical with the Sea coast cycle trail (LT5);
in Estonia it is signed as the National Route No. 1;
for Latvia you can find the cycling description on "Latvia by Bicycle" (sorry, there is no special infrastructure there, yet)

* No. 11 - Athens - North Cape:
only marked on Estonia's National Route No. 3.
If you want to discover it in Latvia and Lithuania, you can read the BaltiCCycle.eu route descriptions "Riga-Vilnius by bicycle" (LT3/LV3) and Warsaw-Vilnius (LT1)
(sorry, there is no special infrastructure in Lithuania and Latvia there, yet)

* No. 13 "Iron Curtain Trail" ... was recently adopted as EuroVelo route, see below

"Euroroute R1"

Von Boulogne-sur-Mer bis St. Petersburg verbindet der Europa-Radweg Euroroute R1 auf über 3500 Kilometern die Menschen, die Natur und die Kultur neun europäischer Länder.

An der litauischen Küste fällt er mit dem "Küstenradweg Litauen" (LT5) zusammen,
bis Riga mit "Burgenroute" LV1, der EuroVelo-Route Nr. 10,

In Estland ist die Nationale Route Nr. 4 als R1 ausgeschildert.

The Iron Curtain Trail

For almost half a century, Europe was forcibly divided into East and West by the "Iron Curtain", a border stretching from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea. The European cycle track Iron Curtain Trail invites people to retrace and experience this important part of the continent's history.
